Welcome to Eco Club

A warm welcome to Junior Eco Club Eco Club started in March, 2005 and has grown from a small group of caring children to a flourishing team of over 40 hard-working members. We meet every Wednesday after school at 4pm until 5pm, in all weathers. Welcome to the Junior School Council

Welcome A school council is a body of pupils whose purpose is to represent their peers and actively participate in the decision making process of the school. Since 2005, Rougemont Junior School has supported successful school councils, giving pupils the right to be heard and have their views considered. The election process is as follows: Pupils from each class write their own manifesto. Pupils present their manifesto to their class in election week held in October of each year. School councillors are democratically elected by their class in a secret ballot. Finally, announcements of the new school council are given in assembly. The school council meets every fortnight with Mrs Williams (link teacher) to discuss, suggest and problem solve suggestions and ideas from their class. The school council 2009-10 have already had several meetings, to allocate different jobs and responsibilities, which have been democratically shared. Â

All junior pupils are encouraged to submit topical articles, for example, a review of a holiday destination, or an extra-curricular activity which they have participated in. Issues of Junior Journal are published three times throughout the academic year, at the end of each term. Pupils work hard to discuss ideas for each issue and to report on them as the term progresses. They enjoy…
