 Welcome to Reception (Year 0 )   Please use this page to find out about our weekly news and events. Dates for your diary Friday 9th March – World book day. Children are encouraged to come to school dressed as a child from around the world, with a book to go with their outfit if possible!  Tuesday 13th March – Fairtrade supermarket visit. Our second week back after half term is Welsh week. During this week we will have our Eisteddfod. Week beginning the 20h February Our words of the week are 'the', 'I' and 'up' to be spelt by letter name and not sound .These words will be given for homework and children will revise them daily within our phonic lessons. Spring term 1 2012 Curriculum Planner This term we will be reading a variety of books - Going on a bear hunt,Little red riding hood,All about Claude Monet, a poem about materials. In maths ,counting,adding,patterns,shape and capacity Learning about materials and that there are many materials in the world around us, discovering differences in materials and exploring how materials change during cooking Looking at simple maps and creating a 3D map and a simple map of the classroom. In art -painting looking at shape ,pattern and texture. Our artist this term will be Claude Monet. In PSHE  -  Caring for people and special relationships. This term will be gymnastics, again no trainers will be needed.
